Guess who is my co-speaker at Javoxx '08?

So last night I got thinking on how am I going to fill up 2h30 min at Javoxx '08. The main problem is not filling it up but entertaining the people, having too listen to the same guy (me) during such a long period seems so boring?

But who can I ask?

Last year I got in touch with this cool guy named Charlie Collins (USA) who wrote a book called GWT in Practice. We kinda 'connected' and kept in touch ... so I thought why not, let's get this guy over here. The funny thing is that I thought about it last night and this afternoonI got an email from Stephan Jansen (Javoxx founder) asking me if I would be interested in doing a talk with Charlie :-) They hooked up at a Java conference in the USA a while ago, and Charlie mentioned he knew one guy in Belgium, me, and it seemed Stephan remembered this :-)

So a few minutes ago I finaly got a hold on him on GTalk (stupid timezones) and he was really excited on doing this talk with me. Just a few 'logistic' problems that need to be solved but if all goes well you'll be seeing him in December. You can't image how excited I am on doing this with him ...

Let's just hope he can handle our Belgian beer ;-)

I got approval from home and work to make the trip, so it looks like it's all 99% set (waiting on a few travel arrangements, but that should be easy). I am really honored that you guys asked me, now I just have to live up to the billing ;).

Luckily for that part I don't have to do the entire time myself either, really nice to have someone else to throw it back and forth with - should be interesting - and based on what you (Maarten) bring to the table with presentations (if you haven't yet seen it, check out http://www.maartenvolders.com/jazoon08/) it shouldn't be that touch to collaborate and come up with a really nice pres.

Thanks man, and I think I can handle the Belgian brew, but I guess will get to find out. ;)
